Volunteers Help Family Repair Bridge to House

KUCHING: A family of six in Telaga Air near here can now enjoy a safer passage to their house, courtesy of a ‘gotong royong’ (communal project) led by Pantai Damai assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

Volunteers working together repaired the bridge leading to the family’s house by placing new wooden planks to reinforce the structure so that the bridge users need no longer worry about falling into the stream below.

Weston COA Introduces Senior Services Home Repair

The Weston Council on Aging is introducing the Senior Services Home Repair and Contractor Referral Program.

Our goal is to create a resource listing of prescreened and approved contractors that will provide basic home and yard repair, maintenance and home modification services for Weston residents 60 and over.

The Weston COA received a federal grant from Springwell to establish these useful lists along with an informative packet about working successfully with contractors.

RM43 MLN to HELP FISHERMEN to REPAIR, BUILD HOUSES

Volunteers Repair Storm-Damaged Home

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – This was also a special day for the Golphin family of Springfield. Volunteers by the dozens helped them repair the damage caused by the June first tornado and October snowstorm Saturday.

It’s been a tough year for Tammy and Prince Golphin and their two daughters. Prince lost his job and Tammy’s unable to work because of diabetes. But seeing the volunteers hard at work gave this Springfield family hope for the future. “When I came out and saw there were, I’m sure dozens of people, they blocked off the street and all these people were in my yard cleaning and pulling and packing and planting, like I’ve never seen before,” said Tammy.
