How to Make Over Your Home for as Less as Possible?

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

My house is just that, a house. Not a home. It has no soul and it is not a place I look forward to having friends come and see.

We are a bit short on money, so any tips / advice on home improvement for cheap?

(about £600)

Fresh paint, light neutral color. Maybe some new pics from $store. Pick a theme. Lots of throw pillows in different colors. Baskets with magazines. Put out personal stuff, like books on a bookshelf, trophies. Make a collage of pics, Empahsize what you like, what makes you comfortable.Something new to go on coffee table, perhaps. Lots of lamps, give a nice glow and are not so bright. Bedroom put a piece of sheer fabric over lamp for a nice glow. More throw pillows. Get extra pillows 2 for 5 at $store put matching p. cases on so you will have a fluffy look. Buy new comforter set, bed in a bag, that has everything at Wal Mart if have the money. Pick a theme for your kitchen, like apples they are cheerful or fruit. $store has nice curtains and matching apple stuff like soap dispenser. Clear cabinets, less is more to me in the kitchen. Go for a clear and clean approach.Love silk flowers and greenery, to me it makes the outdoors come in. Some green plants.
That’s all I can think of. Hope it helps.

We’re all in a tight budget, i hear ya’… but first of all, i think you should know what style you like. For example: if you like neutral colors, then go with some small accent in dark brown wood, with some green and beige.
You can go to IKEA, and they have A LOT of things that are really nice for less.

Check out the web page below for suggestions about inexpensive ways to fix the house up.
If you make the committment to spend several weekends reaching your goals, and make a plan of action before you start, I’m sure you’ll succeed.

    Good luck
