The Douglas County District Attorney wants county residents to be aware that driveway repair, paving, general home repair scammers are currently working in the area.

District Attorney Charles Branson said the scammers are associated with an estimated 2000 or newer, white, one ton, General Motors brand, extended cab pickup truck with Illinois plates.

According to authorities, the men have already scammed one Douglas County resident out of $1,500 for a driveway repair scam.

If anyone is a victim of the scammers, they are asked to contact the police and file a police report. They are also urged to contact the District Attorney’s Consumer Protection Unit at 785-841-0211.
