SHAWNEE, Okla. —
A Shawnee man charged in 12 separate felony cases, including numerous charges of home repair fraud, pleaded guilty in his cases Thursday and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Darin Grant Deatherage, 39, appeared before District Judge John Canavan in Pottawatomie County District Court.
He pleaded guilty in all of his cases was sentenced in each case to serve 20 years in prison with the Department of Corrections, with sentences running concurrently.
Deatherage faced seven counts of home repair fraud. In each count, he was accused of entering into transactions with area residents and receiving up-front payments for work that was never started or completed, charges show.
Each transaction ranged in price from the low end at $3,000, up to a mid-range of $8,300, and the highest at $25,923, according to felony information filed.
He also was sentenced on a case of embezzlement of rental property for failing to return a stock trailer, charges of grand larceny for theft of a 35 foot gooseneck trailer, as well as knowingly concealing stolen property, along with a count of possessing a firearm after former conviction of a felony.
In each case, Deatherage was ordered to pay fines and court costs, with restitution reserved.
Deatherage remains jailed in the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center, where he’ll await transfer to the Department of Corrections for placement at a state penitentiary.
