Seven Get Aid From Kampar MP

R. KAVERI can finally sleep peacefully knowing she has the cash now to repair her dilapidated house in Kampung Tersusun Batu Karang in Kampar.

The 42-year-old housewife was among seven who received RM2,000 each recently from Kampar MP Datuk Lee Chee Leong to repair their homes.

“The walls of my wooden house are very badly infested with termites. The planks are rotting and may fall off any time.

“I’m worried for my mother — she is already 72 and had her right foot amputated due to diabetes,” she said.

Factory worker Zainora Ahmad Suhaimi, 47, said she was thankful to Lee as she could now repair the broken ceiling and zinc roof at the back of her house.

“The money will lessen my financial burden as it can cover the entire cost of the repair works,” said Zainora, who has been struggling to provide for her four school-going children ever since her husband died.

Lee presented a RM14,000 cheque for the seven villagers to their Village Development and Safety Committee chairman Mohd Ali Khan Ayubi during his visit recently.

Lee, who is also Deputy Home Minister, later continued on his visit to the village, listening to the woes of the local community.
