TULSA – Tulsa police are asking for help locating a suspect targeting the elderly in with home repair scams.
Dusty Joles is wanted in connection with home repair schemes from June 16 to july 14.
Police say Joles is working with two to three other white males, but he does most of the talking.
Joles has the elderly victim write checks payable to him, which he later cashes.
He claims to be the son of the roofer who replaced the victims’ roofs and says he can fix damaged shingles still under warranty.
His crew then works briefly on the roofs, usually spray painting vents.
Police say Joles then requests payment for his work, sometimes up to several thousand dollars. Police say he also enters the victims’ homes and steals cash from inside.
Joles was arrested in Little Rock July 26 for outstanding warrants, but has since bonded out. Police believe he may be en route to Tulsa.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.
