At Tuesday night’s reorganization meeting of the West Jefferson Hills School Board, Anthony Angotti was elected president, Shauna D’Alessandro was elected first vice-president and Deborah Pozycki was elected second vice-president.

Each was the sole nominee for their respective positions.

The votes were 8 to 0, with Anna Lilley absent.

Mr. Angotti and Mrs. Pozycki served as, respectively, first and second vice-presidents the past year, while Mrs. D’Alessandro was president. Mrs. Pozycki served as president in 2010.

In other business, the board awarded the construction contract for the Thomas Jefferson High School Stadium field house repairs to Mann Construction of Pittsburgh for $79,300.

Architect Ryan Pierce, of JC Pierce LLC of Bellevue, said the chief problems are the cracking due to the exterior wall on the field side separating from the roof structure, and the sagging of a large window located over an exit door on the field side.

Mr. Pierce said the plan is for work to begin within the next three weeks, with completion taking a month or less depending on the weather.

The three-level field house consists of a press box, meeting rooms, locker rooms, toilet facilities, and concession stand.

As it was newly built in 2002, district Solicitor Ira Weiss said he will look at the legal options to determine responsibility for the repairs, and whether legal action should be pursued.
